This tour takes us to explore the famous Venado Caverns, located in San Carlos, Alajuela province. The Venado Caverns contain formations that are millions of years old that house the beauty of waterfalls, numerous stalactites and stalagmites, and exotic fauna such as fish, insects, spiders, and four different species of bats. Our tour begins in the city of San José, the route to take is 32 San José Limón, at the height of Río Frío we will detour taking the Corredor Noratlántico road, we will pass through the towns of Horquetas, Puerto Viejo, Chilamates, Pital, Muelle, Monterrey and ending in the community of Venado. Road: 90% asphalt 10% gravel Location: Alajuela Province, San Carlos Sector, Venado Community Maximum altitude: 1740 meters above sea level Duration: From San José a total of 10 hours round trip Travel date: May 2023 Total distance: 410 km round trip. Tolls: 1 toll booth on Route 32 highway, cost per motorcycle ¢50 Temperature: between 20 and 37 degrees Celsius.
