We visited the largest archipelago of the White Sea, which many call a real place of power. We learned how the monks of the main Orthodox shrine of the Russian North, the Solovetsky Monastery, live. How they harvest mussels and kelp (seaweed) here, and then add it to bread, salads, and even soap. We visited former camp barracks, which have now become apartments for Solovetsky families, saw newborn beluga whales in the open sea, and tried to understand: what is it like to live at the very edge of the world?
