We will follow the traces of Ahmet Özhan this week... In this episode of Traces, Ahmet Özhan's main stories are; I am the child of a police officer father. If a police officer father is a bit moral, someone who understands what is halal and haram, he will be appointed a lot. Whoever puts a spoke in their wheel, they will immediately take him from there. My late father was also that type of person, that's why he couldn't stay in one place for too long, he always spent his life in exile. His crime was being honorable. That's why I was born in Urfa, a place I later found a sense of belonging to and which made me very proud. I was born in Urfa on August 26, 1950. It has always been a source of pride for me. I have always enjoyed the pleasure of Urfa people calling each other my fellow countryman, but when I was 10 months old, my father was exiled from there as well. There was no place beyond Hakkari, the border. The Hakkari of 1950 was not a beautiful city like today, it was a homeland in great need. My mother was an Istanbul girl. She played the oud and sang, her sisters did the housework, but she was of Rumelian origin, had a tough temperament, and with the action she showed in her police work, she was naturally surprised when she married my father. One day, my father saw that my mother was trying to fill the hole in the wall with mud, but even my father had mercy and sent us to Eskişehir, to stay with my grandfather and grandmother. It is a place I vaguely remember. A large garden, like siblings, aunts and uncles from many households. I remember my grandmother bent double, an old woman who went ninety degrees, but her face was shiny, tense, not wrinkled and red. She was born in Silistre, a Balkan woman. Here is such a family...
