Her parents say that she was fascinated by singing and when she returned from kindergarten she had her ritual, she would go to the room with a mirror, climb on a stool and sing in front of it with her hands on her hips, gesturing like a true artist. She inherited the talent from the family, her father, Lobonț Ioan Călin, being a former professional dancer and his sister, her aunt, Maria Lobonț, a folk music singer. The first songs she learned were the kindergarten ones, her mother and grandmother took care of the talented young woman and supported her. Later, taking her to music competitions, where she won prizes, they realized her potential and her fierce desire to sing. She graduated from primary, secondary and high school in Gherla. She was a member of the “Zestrea” / “Colindița” group in Gherla for 12 years, led by Marinela and Constantin Istici, a vocal group where she was formed, all this time participating in folk music competitions. In 2005, she was a bud of treasure in the show Tezaur Folcloric produced by the late Marioara Murărescu on TVR 1, and then followed a beautiful collaboration with the ensembles “Tradiții” and “Doina” from Cluj Napoca, choreographed by Ioan and Camelia Motoc, with whom she sang carols all over the world, acting as a vocal soloist. She graduated from the “Tudor Jarda” Popular Arts School in Cluj-Napoca and attended the “Babes Balyoi” Law School in the same city. By the age of 26, she had released 5 albums of folk music, party music, carols and nursery rhymes. She was the first folklore artist to also become a vlogger, filming vlogs from her home, her personal/professional life, keeping in touch with her fans in an amazing way. She gathered over 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube account in 2020, thus receiving the “SILVER CREATOR AWARD - YOUTUBE” award from the platform. She managed to enter the list of the most popular videos on YouTube both in Romania and abroad. She enjoys success and is a highly rated artist on the Romanian market, having many collaborations with different artists, on different musical styles. It is known that Georgiana Lobonț loves authentic old folk costumes, so she has presented her own collection of Romanian folk costumes several times in media appearances. Georgiana Lobonț became a wife in 2016, marrying her manager, Rareș Ciciovan with whom she has 2 children, a boy and a girl.
