Today I am publishing this beautiful excursion done on the last day of August, done and shared with my sister Veronica and her partner Manuel, starting from the Rifugio Angelo Dibona (2083 meters) and going clockwise along the ring that completely goes around the imposing Tofana di Rozes. “The Tofana di Rozes tour is about 12 km long and can be easily done in 5/6 hours, overcoming a total difference in altitude of 1200 meters (600 meters is the difference in altitude from the lowest to the highest point of the route), even without doing the Scala del Minighel via ferrata”. We continue on path 404 up to Vallon Tofana, then we reach the Castelletto area where the landscape that appears is disturbing for those who have read the story before: here the cascade of crumbled and moved stones were caused by a large explosion of a mine, by Italian soldiers in the First World War, to blow up the Austrian positions via an underground tunnel. Continuing first west, then north west and finally north, we reach the Col dei Bos fork at 2331 meters, where my sister and I lost ourselves for whole minutes taking photos of an impressive landscape from how much beauty it could emanate. Here it is dotted with historical relics of the Great War, with casemates of all types, trenches still well preserved and where you can also glimpse a tunnel dug inside the wall of the Tofana di Rozes. Continuing, we dive into the Val Travenanzes, a fantastic wild valley through which we are lucky enough to pass, even if only for a short time. Further ahead, we pass a vertical waterfall, then a ladder of logs and finally the most difficult part of the route begins: the last ascent to the Giussani refuge. Due to character limits, I will end this introduction here, hoping that you enjoyed this video: it is longer than average, but I really couldn't do any shorter!
