Many entrepreneurs end up making mistakes that can bankrupt a business when defining the pro-labore. One of them is setting a value much higher than is possible to sustain. And the worst: with this, they lose money thinking they are making money. Do you know why? For example, when a business owner decides that he wants to take out 10 thousand reais in pro-labore, with a business that makes 100 thousand reais per month, he does not receive this amount. This is because there are two mandatory payments that are discounted from this amount: INSS and Income Tax. By discounting these payments, you will actually be earning 6,150 reais. It is not with the pro-labore that you will really make money. The pro-labore should be a fair amount according to the role you perform in the company. For example, if you want to avoid any of these mandatory payments, you can set a value of 3 thousand reais, in which you will pay practically only INSS. This way, you will not be losing so much money per month. So, how do owners and partners make money? With liquidity. Liquidity is the money left in the cash register after a certain period. This is when, after you have set aside part of the money for an emergency fund and investment, you still have money in the cash register. If you are the sole owner, you will be able to receive this full amount. If you have partners, you should check what percentage each one gets to divide the money. For example, if the company has an annual revenue of R$400,000 and the fixed expenses are R$40,000 per month. You can set aside three months of fixed expenses from the revenue for the emergency fund. That is, R$1,200. And, in addition, about 20% for investments, which is R$72,000. The remaining cash flow will be R$208,000. And this is the money that you will receive or share with your partners, if you have any. The best part is that this amount is not subject to social security or income tax deductions. But for all of this to work, planning is necessary. Look at your cash flow, see if you have a viable salary or not, and plan when is the best time for you to distribute liquidity.
