In Germany, one in seven children lives in poverty. In Berlin and many other German cities, almost a third of children are excluded from normal social life due to child poverty. In many affected families, it is even unthinkable that there is a hot meal on the table every day. The children's welfare organization "Arche" in Berlin Hellersdorf is the lifeline for these children. Pastor Bernd Siggelkow is the initiator of this project. Ten years ago, he and his family came to Berlin Hellersdorf with the firm aim of providing children from poor families with a warm meal every day. The number of those in need is increasing. Today, more than 250 boys and girls come to the "Arche" every day - and they get much more than just a meal here: leisure activities, life support and a little security. The report accompanies three children from Hellersdorf who spend every day in the "Arche" and shows how the children deal with their complicated life situation.
