Every now and then, Canon changes something in its flash contact, such as the controversial change that affected models such as the Rebel T7 and SL3, and which has been generating suspicions about the new system that appeared in the powerful EOS R3 and is also present in the EOS R7, EOS R10 and EOS R6 Mark II. Is compatibility with flashes guaranteed? Will things work the way we are used to? This video is about that, because I tested a bunch of flash models on my EOS R7 to find out the answers. Note: Canon is launching the Speedlite EL 5, so far the only model 100% made for the new flash contact, without the 5 pins on the base and using communication only through the electronic contacts that are in front of the flash base. It has the same guide number as the 600 EX RT II, which has just been discontinued by Canon. The EL 5 is only compatible with the EOS R3, R6 Mark II, R7 and R10. In the near future we will see Canon camera flash mounts losing the 5 contact pins and keeping the electronic connection, as the absence of these pins on the EL 5 indicates that in the future cameras will also no longer have this form of contact, then comes the Canon AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter, an adapter, we will talk about it in another video, part 2 of this content, soon.
