He states unequivocally: "Anyone who does not distance themselves from extremists is no better than the extremists themselves." Von Storch replies that the CDU is increasingly adopting AfD positions anyway: "Whether in migration policy or in the nuclear phase-out - our demands prevail." The AfD politician sees the CDU as a party that disappoints its voters through indecision. The delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine is also a contentious issue between the two politicians. Storch warns: "Delivering Taurus means attacking Russia with German weapons - that will bring us into war." Amthor disagrees: "That is simply a lie." The future of the EU is also causing controversy. Von Storch advocates Germany's exit from the EU, combined with the creation of a new "European Community". Amthor warns that this would "ruin Germany economically and morally" and adds: "The AfD stands for Germany's decline." For the CDU, the EU is essential for the German business model and international cooperation, despite the need for reform. Regarding the situation in Syria, von Storch calls for the repatriation of Syrian refugees. Those who celebrated the end of the Assad regime must now return voluntarily or be deported: "Those who no longer have a reason to flee must go." Amthor is more cautious: "We must carefully assess the situation on the ground." He stresses the need to proceed carefully in order to ensure security and stability in the region.
