From breathtaking landscapes, through majestic castles and palaces, to interesting attractions for children. NATURE Świętokrzyskie offers many natural attractions. The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are the oldest mountains in Poland. Łysa Góra (Holy Cross) and Łysica are located here. On the peaks you can see rock rubble, which is a unique geological attraction. For nature lovers, an unforgettable attraction will also be the Kadzielnia Nature Reserve in Kielce, which is distinguished by its impressive limestone rocks and caves. CASTLES AND PALACES The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is also a region full of castles and palaces, reminding us of the former power of this area. The most famous building is the Royal Castle in Chęciny, which towers over the area and offers beautiful views. Another interesting castle is the Castle in Ujazd, also known as Krzyżtopór. This is an extraordinary building, which was once one of the largest castles in Europe. We cannot also forget about the Palace of the Krakow Bishops in Kielce, which served as the residence of bishops, and today is the seat of the National Museum. CITIES The Świętokrzyskie Province is not only beautiful nature and monuments, but also interesting cities. Kielce, the capital of the province, offers a rich cultural life and numerous attractions. Sandomierz is another charming city in the region, known for its picturesque streets, Renaissance tenement houses and beautiful views of the Vistula River. It is a great place for a walk, as well as visiting the Sandomierz Cathedral and the Castle. PLACES WITH A PAST For lovers of history and places with a rich past, the Świętokrzyskie Province has a lot to offer. One of the most fascinating places is Krzemionki Opatowskie - prehistoric striped flint mines. This is a unique complex of Neolithic mines on a global scale, where you can see how raw materials for tool production were extracted. Krzemionki is on the UNESCO list. You can't miss Szydłów, called the Polish Carcassonne, which is famous for its well-preserved defensive walls in Poland. ATTRACTIONS FOR CHILDREN The Świętokrzyskie Province is also an ideal place for family trips with children. One of the biggest attractions is the Bałtów Tourist Complex, which offers many attractions for the youngest. There is JuraPark Bałtów, where children can admire reconstructions of dinosaurs and learn about their history. For younger children, the Fairy Tale Center in Pacanów is a great place, where toddlers can move to the world of fairy tales and learn about the adventures of Koziołek Matołek.
