Realizing that starting the engine seemed a bit heavy, I decided to pay attention to the issue of grounding. This video will show two alternatives for grounding the Beetle battery, and I chose to use both AT THE SAME TIME! The traditional grounding is on the Beetle body, on the nut that tightens the floor screw. Another grounding is next to the starter motor. See how I use both at the same time to achieve a smoother start and avoid excessive heating of the battery grounding mesh.
