Sometimes stress has a motivating effect, but it can also be a source of illness and terrible well-being. In the lecture, Dr. Agnieszka Mościcka-Teske talks about how stress works and how to deal with it effectively. Feeling stressed is a daily experience for every person. Stress has a motivating effect, but it can also be excessive and have negative effects on health and well-being. One of the effects of stress on the body is an increased level of muscle tension, which we often describe with the phrases: "I'm tense", "I'm so tense", "I have to tense up". During the lecture, listeners will learn what mechanisms are responsible for the fact that stress, invisible to the naked eye, causes quite specific and measurable effects in the form of, for example, a headache or stomach ache. This knowledge will introduce listeners to the topic of coping with stress, within which various ways of dealing with it will be presented. About the speaker: Dr Agnieszka Mościcka-Teske - psychologist, psychotherapist, trainer of psychological skills and court expert, appointed as an expert in cases of mobbing and sexual harassment in the workplace. She creates, co-creates and implements training and educational programs in the field of developing social skills (communication, assertiveness, functioning in a group), ways of coping with stress, and coping with aggression, mobbing, sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace. About the project: Strefa Psyche SWPS is an innovative undertaking whose aim is to popularize psychological knowledge at the highest substantive level and to discover the possibilities of action offered by psychology in various spheres of both private and professional life. We want to show the practical application of psychological knowledge not only in the spheres obvious for this field of science (e.g. assistance, therapy), but also in the business sector and advanced, modern technologies.
