Engagement in the struggles of the present can involve turning to the past to re-appropriate it. Alexis Corbière recently gave an example of this by publishing a history book, Jacobins! By promoting the idea of ​​a "Girondin pact" during the 2017 campaign and since his election to the presidency of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron is trying to have the radicalization of inequalities accepted... while trying to impose his explicitly monarchist idea of ​​French institutions.
