Sunday Sermon from Genesis 15 [15] 6-21 and from Romans 15 [12] 1-2, on 06/10/2024, speaker Sotiris Stergios ---------------- --------------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: Genesis v' 6) And he believed in the Lord; and it was accounted to him for righteousness . 7) And he said to him, I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land as an inheritance. 8) And he said, Despot Lord, How shall I know that I will inherit her? 9) And he said to him, Get me a three-year-old heifer, and a three-year-old goat, and a three-year-old ram, and a dove, and a dove. 10) And they took all these to him, and he crossed them in the middle, and they placed each part opposite its like, but he did not cross the birds. 11) And vultures descended on the corpses, and Abram pursued them. 12) And about the setting of the sun, ecstasy fell upon Abram; and behold, a great dark fear fell upon him. 13) And the Lord said to Abram, Know for sure that your seed will sojourn in a land that is not theirs, and they will serve them, and they will oppress them, four hundred years; 14) but the nation, to which they will be served, I want judge; then these will come out with great possessions; 15) you will not go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried in old age, I call; 16) and in the fourth generation they will return here; because the iniquity of the Amorites has not yet been fulfilled. 17) And when the sun went down and there was thick darkness, behold, a smoking furnace and a burning fire that passed between these divisions. 18) On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, to your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates; 19) the Kenites, and the Kenezites, and the Kedmoneans, 20) and the Hittites, and the Perezeans, and the Rephaim, 21) and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Gergeseans, and the Jebusites. Romans 15 1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable worship, 2) and do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, the good and pleasant and perfect. --------------------------- Amen
