If I ask you this question, which is completely trivial, it is because we have all faced this kind of event at least once in our lives. Beginner players joined in extremis after a somewhat haphazard agro on dofus, hungry nudist met by chance saved from hunger on Rust, desperate protection of a tank trapped behind enemy lines on Foxhole and even simple, purely altruistic care in any MMORPG, all these actions, however simple they may be, are rescues in their own right. Experiences closely linked to the very notion of multiplayer so basic and often so little rewarded that in addition to forgetting their rewarding sides, we would almost forget their existence and the importance they can have in video games. Not because we often talk about war, spectacular conflict, or duel but rarely about moments where players simply came to the aid of others - a bit like it was just not interesting as a story. However in the limbo of the internet and other forum posts left behind, in our research we came across the story of a rescue! An epic rescue that alone will have kept an entire community on tenterhooks and mobilized entire teams for months, all to come to the aid of an unfortunate Elite Dangerous player.
