In our archive, we found the first part of the famous play of the Yugoslav Drama Theater - Crime and Punishment, directed by Miroslav Belović, who also dramatized this great literary work of FM Dostoyevsky. Belović's performance was remembered primarily for the roles played by Mihailo Janketić, as Raskoljnikov, and Ljuba Tadić, as Porfirije Petrovič. Our viewers, for now, have only the first part of the play, which was filmed for television in 1972 (TV directed by Sava Mrmak). At the very end of this part, the first meeting between the inspector and the killer takes place, as a kind of announcement of an exciting and tense psychological game of cat and mouse. Janketić skilfully embodied the character of a disturbed student, who struggles with the burden of the crime committed, while Ljuba Tadić, with poise and calmness, plays the investigator Petrović, who slowly and carefully prepares a trap for his suspect.
