Eden von Horvath, an Austro-Hungarian writer whose works always have a strong anti-war note, was a completely forgotten and unknown playwright for a long time until he was rediscovered in the late fifties and early sixties of the 20th century, and then his intense campaign on the world stage began. "Don Juan Returns from the War" is a play written in 1936, and it premiered only in 1952. The play is set in 1918. It deals with the theme of returnees from the First World War, representatives of the lost generation in post-war circumstances, the theme of unfulfilled love and imminent death. The piece was written for 1 actor and 36 female characters, but all those women can be grouped into groups with similar characters, so that actresses always play multiple roles. The performance at the Yugoslav Drama Theater was directed by Paolo Madjeli with Stojan Dečermić in the lead role, and six actresses (Dubravka Perić, Olga Savić, Branka Petrić, Zorica Šumadinac, Radmila Radovanović and Ljiljana Međeši) played all the other characters. The premiere was on November 4, 1980, and the recording dates from 1982. The performance was excellently rated by both critics and the audience and remained in the repertoire for a long time.
