"Podvala" is one of two theater texts by the Serbian classic Milovan Glišić. Although written in a realistic manner back in the 19th century, this comedy that talks about corruption and nepotism, which mocks an entire layer of fraudsters in the Serbian town and gullible peasants, corresponded well with the audience even then, in 1968, when it was premiered under the direction of Jovan Putnik at stage of the National Theater in Belgrade, and in its own way it is still relevant today. Mija Aleksić, Olivera Marković, Pavle Minčić, Vasa Pantelić and other members of the National Theater in Belgrade played important roles in this play, which was very popular with the audience. The footage from TV Belgrade is from 1969. Label and copyright: Radio-television of Serbia Any copying of video and/or audio recordings and uploading to other channels is prohibited!
