On the occasion of the premiere of the play "Jill and John" (Butterflies are free) in the Theater in the basement of the Atelje 212 theater (February 20, 1999), which is known to a wider audience as the Hollywood film version with Goldie Hawn in the lead role, in the newspaper "Danas" Željko Hubač wrote: "Leonard Gersh's text, written back in 1969, is a boulevard melodrama that hides a lot of material for good the play. It is the story of a blind young man who decides to make radical changes in his life, to separate himself from his mother's too strong embrace and start living only in a real environment. Gersh set the story in such a way that it outgrows the framework of the melodramatic template when a stupid provincial woman, seemingly of easy morals and unstable character, gets involved in the complex relationship between the possessive mother and the handicapped young man, who manages to resolve the relationship between mother and son with her own sincerity." The play at Atelier 212 was directed by Nenad Gvozdenović, and the main roles were played by Danijel Sič, Katarina Erić and, in the line of the mother, the brilliant Tanja Bošković. The play was recorded for television in 2002. Label and copyright: Radio-television of Serbia Any copying of video and/or audio recordings and placement on other channels is prohibited!
