The doctrine professed in the CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION IN BRAZIL is summarized in the following twelve points: I - We believe in the entire Holy Bible and accept it as containing the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is the only and perfect guide for our faith and conduct, and nothing can be added to it or taken from it. It is also the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (II Peter 1:21; II Tim. 3:16-17; Rom. 1:16). II - We believe that there is only one living and true God, eternal and of infinite power, Creator of all things, in whose unity there are three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 4:6; Matt. 28:19; I John 5:7) III-We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Word made flesh, having assumed a human nature in the womb of the virgin Mary, therefore possessing two natures, the divine and the human; for this reason He is called true God and true man and is the only Savior, for He suffered death for the guilt of all men. (Luke 1:27; John 1:14; I Peter 3:18). IV-We believe in the personal existence of the devil and his angels, evil spirits, who, together with him, will be punished in eternal fire. (Matt. 25:41). V-We believe that the new birth and regeneration are only received through faith in Jesus Christ, who was delivered for our sins and raised again for our justification. Those who are in Christ Jesus are new creatures. Jesus Christ, for us, was made by God wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. (Rom. 3:24; I Cor. 1:30; II Cor. 5:17). VI-We believe in baptism in water, with one immersion, in the Name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38) and in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:18-19). VII-We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with evidence of new tongues, as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4; 10:45-47 and 19:6). VIII-We believe in the Holy Supper. Jesus Christ, on the night in which He was betrayed, took bread and gave thanks, broke it and gave it to the disciples, saying: “This is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:19-20; I Cor. 11:24-25). IX-We believe in the necessity of abstaining from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from fornication, as the Holy Spirit showed us in the Jerusalem Assembly. (Acts 15:28-29; 16:4; 21:25). X-We believe that Jesus Christ took upon Himself our infirmities. “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.” (Matt. 8:17; James 5:14-15). XI-We believe that the Lord himself (before the millennium) will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet them in the air; and so we will always be with the Lord. (I Thess. 4:16-17; Rev. 20:6). XII-We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust. The latter will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. (Acts 24:15; Matt. 25-46). Learn more... http://www.icp.com.br
