Hue is a centrally-governed city, Vietnam. Hue used to be the capital (the ancient capital of Hue) of Vietnam under the Tay Son Dynasty (1788–1801) and the Nguyen Dynasty (1802–1945). Currently, the city is one of the centers of culture - tourism, specialized healthcare, education and training, science and technology of the Central - Central Highlands region and the whole country. Notable landmarks are the Perfume River and the heritages left by the feudal dynasties. The city has five UNESCO titles in Vietnam: Complex of Hue Monuments (1993), Hue Royal Court Music (2003), Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks (2009), Nguyen Dynasty Royal Records (2014) and System of poetry and literature on Hue royal architecture (2016). In addition, Hue is also one of the localities with the heritage of singing Bai Choi that has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
