We commissioned a new work, unpublished, to the young composer Álvaro Metzger with a single condition, that the basis of the composition was an organ. The piece, as the composer explained, is a review of Àngel Guimerà's life from his birth, through his arrival in El Vendrell, the successes achieved with its literary base,... etc. The work consists of 9 pieces, among which we can find two Gregorian chants that will be interpreted by the composer himself, since his stay as a young man at the Montserrat school inspired him with the Salves Montserratins that he had sung so many times. to compose and leave this mark on the work. We will also find a seguidilla, a very characteristic piece from the Canary Islands, where Àngel Guimerà was born, a habanera to refer to his trip to El Vendrell, a sardana with features characteristic of Vendrell, a Renaissance motet, a more impressionistic piece, inspired by the era in which Guimerà lived and finally a hymn to Àngel Guimerà. All the lyrics are written by the composer himself, with the exception of the piece Any Mil , which is the poem that won the floral games, which Álvaro Metzger has set to music.
