Famous battle locations of the Winter War include Taipale in eastern Kannas, where the Finns managed to repel the attack of the Red Army in the Winter War of 1939-1940. The battles of Taipale have been described in e.g. in the famous Kiirastuli poetry collection of Yrjö Jylhä, who worked as a company manager. Military historian, evl evp, VTM Ari Raunio goes through the battles of Taipale, the troops that fought there, and an overview of the course of the winter war in this video presentation of the Finnish Military Historical Society.
