A gearbox flush on vehicles older than 8 years or with a mileage of 100,000 km or more causes poor shifting behavior in the automatic transmission. The reason for this is that the non-magnetic lamellar abrasion from the mechatronics / shift slide changes position as a result of a gearbox flush or an oil change, thereby causing gear shifting shocks or jerking in the automatic transmission. The correct measure would be, in addition to the gearbox flush, to dismantle the mechatronics / shift slide and clean any lamellar wear. It is not mileage and age that determine the condition of the gearbox, but the driving behavior (short journeys, trailer hitch, high power). Why does the automatic gearbox jerk? • Eliminate automatic gearshift problems -... Reset adaptation values of the automatic gearbox? • Reset adaptation values in the gearbox... What to watch out for when repairing an automatic gearbox? • Gearbox damage to the automatic gearbox... Gearbox flush or oil change in the automatic gearbox • When is a gearbox flush worthwhile... Measures for the AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION Gearbox oil change / gearbox flush (from 60,000 km) Automatic gearbox maintenance 2 (in the event of a loss of pressure) The condition of every gearbox is different, so it is important to determine the condition of your automatic gearbox BEFOREHAND and THEN carry out the correct measure to avoid gearbox damage or poor gearshift behavior due to permanent gearbox wear. There are no signs of gearbox damage if your gearbox is already starting to jerk or slow down. Then you already have a problem in the gearbox which a gearbox flush will not solve. GEARBOX FLUSHING: A gearbox flush does NOT free the mechatronics from LAMBEL ABRASION and is only useful for lines up to 80,000 km. Otherwise, gearshift problems can occur after the gearbox flush. For this reason, we recommend that you determine the condition of the automatic gearbox BEFOREHAND using the adaptation values. When you change the gearbox oil, only part (40%) of the gearbox oil is changed, so this measure should be carried out every 30,000 km. When you flush the gearbox, the entire gearbox oil is changed, so this measure should be carried out every 60,000 km. If you decide to have the gearbox flushed, we recommend using original parts from the gearbox manufacturer and flushing without chemicals or external pressure. If your adaptation values are increased, then you already have a pressure loss in the automatic transmission that cannot be remedied with a flush or oil change. AUTOMATIC MAINTENANCE 2 Using the adaptation values, we can determine whether your automatic transmission has a pressure loss. This causes constant wear on the plates, which leads to transmission damage. In order to restore the correct pressure build-up, we have to find and eliminate the pressure loss in the mechatronics. The mechatronics switches gears by directing the transmission oil into the correct channel. The oil pressure then presses the plate clutches together. Our job is to check whether the pressure loss is caused by metal wear or defective rubber components. Welcome to Graf in Hamburg.
