The name Unimog is an abbreviation of the German words for "all-purpose motor vehicle". These trucks are now sold under the Mercedes-Benz brand. The design of these trucks dates back to the early years after World War II. Unimogs were initially built as low-speed agricultural vehicles to transport agricultural equipment. The Unimog's long and flexible chassis made it suitable for driving on rough terrain. The Unimog used a diesel engine that has similar specifications to the diesel engine used in the Mercedes-Benz 911 truck.
