This vast mountain, which rose from the depths of the sea where the Eurasian Plate and the Indo-Pacific Continent meet, is home to a variety of flora and fauna, just as its nickname suggests. The Li people are an ethnic group that has shared history with many flora and fauna in Mount Gaoliggong. The Li people are the largest ethnic minority in Yunnan Province, China, and have been an ethnic group that has excelled in farming with metal tools, fishing, and gathering since ancient times. Recently, this Li people have begun collecting cinderella in Mount Gaoliggong. Stone honey is honey collected by stone bees who live in their homes on cliffs or in the crevices of rocks. It is richer in nutrients than regular honey and is known to be a food comparable to ginseng. However, it is not easy to obtain because it is difficult to collect and the quantity is small. This is because you have to climb the mountain early to collect stone honey. It takes five to six hours of hiking to collect stone honey, which only grows at an altitude of 3,200 km, so you have to wake up early in the morning and pack everything you need, including bedding and food, for a two-night, three-day mountain camping trip. After carefully packing your bags, the arduous five-hour hike begins... Goryeokgongsan, where Chinese ethnic minorities live in villages, is an unspoiled natural mountain. Because of this, you must be especially careful because of the steep slope of 90 degrees and the soft soil, which makes your feet sink often while hiking, and the threatening thorn trees with thorns over 7cm tall and poisonous plants that cause hives when you just brush against them. ■ When going to collect rock ginseng, you must pack as lightly as possible. When collecting rock ginseng, the weight of the collected rock ginseng alone exceeds 10kg, so carrying a heavy load can be dangerous when coming down the rugged mountain. One important item you must prepare when going to collect rock ginseng is a gun. Since Goryeo Gongsan is called a gathering place for the world's flora and fauna, there are many wild animals, so you have no choice but to deal with large and aggressive wild animals such as bears or wild boars. However, wild animals do not attack unless they are attacked by humans first, so it is a good idea for people and animals to avoid each other. ■ After hiking for several hours, you arrive at a fairly large hut made of rocks and dirt. This is a hut that was built for public use because the villagers often come up to use the natural hot springs in the mountain. In the spring and fall when they collect rock moss, rock moss gatherers mainly use it as a base camp. After unpacking at the base camp, they start preparing meals. They cook rice with the rice they brought from home, and make dishes with meat and wild vegetables they picked from the mountain. After eating, the rock moss gatherers prepare for bed as it starts to get dark. Although it is a day when there is no rock moss harvest, they fall into a good sleep thinking about their families. ■ After climbing up and down the steep mountain several times, they finally find the rock moss! However, it is located in the middle of a cliff, making it difficult to approach from the side, and when they try to climb from the bottom of the cliff, the stream water that swelled from the rain the night before is coming down terribly. The upper part of the rock moss is particularly rough, making it impossible to approach from above. The rock moss gatherers put their bags down for a moment and think about how to approach the rock moss... Will the rock moss gatherers succeed in collecting the rock moss? ■ Rock moss gatherers who discovered the rock moss in Goryeo Gongsan. However, they are worried because there is no way to approach the stone grove... Then, one of the stone grove gatherers discovers an empty beehive. There is no movement of bees around the stone grove, and a bird is sitting and eating the remaining stone grove. In the end, the stone grove gatherers turn back. When asked if they are not disappointed, they say that they are not disappointed because the stone grove will definitely be full when they come back in March of the following year, and rather, they are happy to have discovered a new stone grove. In order to find it easily the following year, they take pictures of the mountains and terrain near the stone grove and turn back without any regrets. ■ The stone grove gatherers start climbing the rugged mountain path again to find the stone grove. Then, it suddenly starts to rain heavily. They say that it is common to fall even without rain because of the rugged terrain, but if it rains and the path becomes slippery, it is more dangerous to climb the mountain. The stone grove gatherers decide to turn back. They have already walked the rugged mountain for a long time, so the way back is not that easy. The stone grove gatherers come down to the village. They gather in one house to prepare a meal together, and drink a mixture of hot water and stone ginseng before the meal. Drinking a mixture of hot water and alcohol before every meal is the health management secret of stone ginseng gatherers. A stone ginseng gatherer over 60 years old boasts that he is so healthy that he has never been to the hospital. ■ The stone ginseng gatherers who failed to collect stone ginseng on the previous 2-night, 3-day hike climbed the mountain again as soon as the sun rose. They passed through more rugged mountains and valleys than before and finally arrived at the cliff where the stone ginseng is located... First, they light a fire under the stone ginseng to send smoke up, and then they tie a rope to their bodies above and climb down a sturdy tree vine to start collecting the stone ginseng. The bees are scurrying around the stone ginseng gatherers. They are in a distracting and dangerous situation.
