The Oigawa Railway, which runs through Shizuoka Prefecture, is a local railway popular for its steam locomotives. The Oigawa Main Line was temporarily suspended in its entirety due to severe damage caused by Typhoon No. 15, which occurred in September 2022. The section in Kawane-cho remains suspended for more than a year. The steam locomotive, which had become a daily sight, has disappeared from the town. We looked at the current state of the town, which hopes for the day when the steam locomotive will run again.
