THE PIONEERS Swedish hot rod and kustom history In the film we meet a number of Swedish pioneers who tell their own experienced stories about the interesting hot rod and kustom world in a personal way. They were inspired by the American youth revolt that gained momentum in the mid-1940s. In the film, we get to take part in the various Swedish development phases that began in the early 1950s, and which have changed in different generations. A form of culture that is still very current. We also get to follow a coastal conversion from concept to finished car. We meet the pioneers face to face, and get an insight into their personal and creative studio/workshop. The film is made by Dan Nilsson in collaboration with Eva Akre
