Becoming famous 400 years after his death, Vlad Țepeș is today considered among the most important rulers of the Romanian countries. Andrei Pogăciaș tells us today the short and very bloody passage through world history of this fearless fighter. Șepeş reigned for a short time, in three terms, but he struck fear into the Saxons, his enemies in the country, and the Ottomans alike. Very inventive, of a courage bordering on recklessness, extraordinarily brave, Vlad III made his fame through his habit of impaling his enemies. Only a very few escaped this terrifying fate - the pretenders to the throne from ruling families, who were "only" beheaded. Vlad Țepes ravaged Transylvania and south of the Danube, had the courage to enter Giurgiu disguised as an Ottoman, to capture the fortress, and then to storm in the same way into the camp of Mehmed II, the conqueror of Constantinople, for to assassinate the sultan in the midst of his own troops. The famous night attack near Târgoviște has gone down in history, and the story of the battles between Mehmed and Țepeș has become the subject of a series on Netflix. The extraordinary story of an unmatched brave and bloody ruler in the current episode of "History Collector". Thank you to everyone who supports us financially, on Patreon or here. We make these shows with passion, we believe that history is the most beautiful of the stories of mankind and we try to bring it closer to the public without vulgarizing it. We do not propose to do history lessons with the pointer on the blackboard, nor conferences in which someone gives monologues in harsh language, but some whistles to which we invite you too. During our discussions, questions are also asked, we also tell a joke, a personal observation, and we laugh from time to time, like between friends. The more complicated part is that making these shows involves costs, effort, work, documentation, a lot of allocated time. Although it is perhaps less obvious, they cannot work out of nothing.
