DaComedy presents GUILTY SUICIDE, a black humor special by Juan José Covarrubias. Juan José Covarrubias deals with controversial issues for the society in which he lives through his comedy. With his Stand up, he seeks to raise awareness about issues of mental health, privilege and fatherhood from his own experience. The pandemic opened the door for many to want to analyze the position we have towards issues that had never plagued us or to which we simply did not pay attention. Covarrubias analyzes his environment and takes his observations to the limit of the ridiculous. GUILTY SUICIDE In this special I present myself as I am: a surly and angry man who assumes that the world is disgusting, without fear of judgment because there is no worse than his own and seeking to confront my mental health. With the cynicism that characterizes me, I recognize my privilege and make fun of all of us who forget about it. GUILTY SUICIDE is not an apology for suicide, or drugs, or my lifestyle. It is simply my experience living with depression day by day. What I seek is to raise awareness of a real mental health problem. It may be that the delivery is confusing with so much shouting and bad words, but in the end you will remember that message.
