#Postwar #History Hello! In this episode of the Postwar series, I dealt with the subject of the war in Algeria. Today, this conflict is somewhat forgotten, meanwhile the French dealt with the Algerians in an exceptionally brutal way, who simply wanted to be free. Thousands of people were displaced from their homes. Insurgents were shot. The war ended only when the fighting moved to France. The Algerians committed many acts of terror there. Cars were blown up and people were killed. In response, the French government tightened controls in Paris. A curfew was introduced. At the same time, the war itself was not the result of a short-term dispute with the end of World War II. Algeria was a French colony, whose inhabitants demanded greater independence as early as the 19th century. However, the world, including Great Britain and later the United States, was not interested in supporting their demands. For a long time, it was exclusively France's internal affair. I also talk about this topic in this episode. Most of the materials used in the film come from the public domain. I would like to sincerely thank all the patrons of the Powojnie channel! The book, the publication of which will also be financed from the funds you have provided, is still being written. https://patronite.pl/powojnie Thank you!
