The Glorious Arabic Mathnawi Nuriye Lessons - Prof. Dr. Şadi Eren Know that: The All-Wise Creator (glorious and exalted be He) made plants and animals, and especially the small ones of them, the widest field for the dispositions of His power for high secrets and sublime wisdoms, the most manifested manifestations of His attributes, and the brightest mirrors for the manifestations of His names. Here are some of these secrets and wisdoms: A plant is like the seed of the earth, a fruit of the animal kingdom, a seed is a miniature specimen of the tree, a fruit is a miniature example of the tree. Thus, what manifests itself in the tree also manifests itself in the seed and fruit. Since the purposes of creation and life are to attain the manifestations of the names of the owner of absolute majesty, beauty, and perfection. It is more appropriate for the eternal wisdom to take special care to multiply the particulars of plants and animals, and especially the small ones of them. It is narrated that the Prophet Moses (pbuh) complained to Allah about the multitude of flies that were attacking him and asked, “What is the wisdom in their multiplication?” Allah informed him that the fly asked, “Why did you create man of this size? Yet he is heedless of you. If you had created a fly from only his head, there would have been a hundred thousand creators in their worlds, praising You and mentioning You among their brothers, showing the manifestations of Your names and the embroideries of Your art with their tongues.” Yes, just as a spiritual Quran written with the ink of stars on the pages of the heavens reads to those who look at it the verses of creation of grandeur and magnificence, a Quran written with the ink of the ether on the atom of one of your eye cells reads the verses of knowledge and wisdom head to head with the other. Just as you hear the glorification of “Subhanallah, how glorious is His glory” from the first, you will hear the glorification of “Subhanallah, how precise is His wisdom, how subtle is His art” from the second. When the two Qur’ans are equal in this way, divine wisdom required that one of them have many copies. However, multiplying the larger ones will not benefit those who look at them. Therefore, it is necessary for these smaller copies to be multiplied for the countless thoughtful observers from among the angels, jinn, humans and others. Also, in the multiplication of copies, the book does not remain as one book, books diversify, benefits are diverse, understandings occur differently. The ones that are similar to each other are added to each other, and thus the good and the bad increase. If most of the surahs and copies of the smaller book were not included in some letters of the larger Qur’an, the smaller one would be superior to the larger one in proportion to its smallness. Another wisdom of small creatures is this: The most perfect manifestation of God Almighty is the manifestation of Oneness. The most perfect art is to include the great with all its decorations in the small. The fruit and seed in relation to the plant, the plant and animal in relation to the earth, the human and the prophet in relation to the universe, the heart and the secret in relation to man; they become a sample and a comprehensive manifestation of all the names of God manifesting on the essence, the universal and the surrounding. For example, a tree is a universal. The fruit points to Unity in terms of being a part of it. At the same time, it is like a part that includes the whole of the universal tree, and in this respect, it points to Unity. In this case, Unity is a witness to Unity in addition to the manifestation of Unity in the mirrors of multiplicity and particularity. For example, “The most sublime example is for Allah,” (Nahl, 60) the light that encompasses the day is an example of Unity. The sun’s image in every transparent particle, drop, pool, sea and planet is an example of the manifestation of Unity. If you see the sun in your mirror with the color of your own mirror and the requisites of its state, and then look at the light when you see it in other mirrors, this shows you unity and testifies that the manifestation is not as abundant as you imagine. Multiplicity and mirrors recite the following poem: “Your beauty is one, but our different expressions are different. Each of us points to that same beauty.” These secrets are quickly conveyed to the following meaning: The All-Wise Creator, whose wisdom is great and whose art is precise, is directed from the universe to the earth, from it to living beings, from them to man, from the individual human being to his heart, from the human species to the heart of that species and to the heart and seed of the universe. That being (pbuh) is the seed, which is the reason for the creation of the universe. He is also the enlightened fruit, which is the result of the universe. Likewise, he is the embodiment of the love of the Creator of the universe and the example of h
