They are defying the demise of bakeries with new ideas and are returning to traditional craftsmanship: bakeries like those of the Fink family from Steinau an der Straße. They don't serve bread made from baking mixes like those used in large-scale operations. They get their flour from one of the last regional mills. They use it to make high-quality dough, the secret of which is one thing above all: time! They drive to markets with mobile wood-fired ovens, where customers eagerly await their natural bread. Marco Langsdorf from Gießen is also fighting for good bread and invites you to 'bake in the shop window'. You can watch him, ask questions and find out what makes baked goods so good. The film also shows what causes supply shortages for flour and grain.
