Śnieżka (Sněžka, Schneekoppe) – the highest peak of the Karkonosze and Sudetes, as well as the Czech Republic, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and the whole of Silesia. The most prominent peak in Poland and the Czech Republic (MDW 1203 m). Its official absolute height is 1602 m above sea level (according to the Karkonosze National Park, as well as the latest measurements, this value is 1603.296 m above sea level). Located on the Polish-Czech border, it towers over the Jelenia Góra Valley (denivelation of about 1200 meters), protruding 200 meters above the Równia pod Śnieżką. On the Polish side, it is located within the administrative boundaries of Karpacz and within the Karkonosze National Park. On the Czech side, within the Krkonošské národního park (KRNAP). Visibility from the top in favorable conditions exceeds 200 km. It belongs to the Crown of Europe, the Crown of Polish Mountains, the Crown of the Sudetes, the Crown of the Polish Sudetes and the Crown of the Czech Sudetes. It is the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Śnieżka significantly towers over the ridges surrounding it. It rises in the western part of the Black Ridge. In the west, the Pass under Śnieżko separates it from the Plain under Śnieżko, to the east stretches the Black Ridge, while to the south there is a long side arm with the hills: Růžová hora, Pěnkavčí vrch and Červený vrch, ending in the southeast, at the mouth of the Malá Úpa into the Úpa. This arm is called Růžohorská hornatina. From the northwest, the pyramid of Śnieżka is undercut by Kocioł Łomniczka and the Łomniczka valley, from the southeast by Jelení důl and the Jeleni potok valley, from the southwest by Úpská jáma and Obří důl.
