Of the 30 million national identity cards currently in circulation in France, 10% were issued under false identities. According to a recent study by CREDOC, identity theft affects more than 210,000 French people each year in our country, a figure higher than home burglaries or car thefts. Of all these victims, 15% have been banned from banking, 13% have been sued and 10% report having fallen seriously ill. Faced with this reality, those who have been stolen are often misunderstood and left to their own devices in their daily struggle to prove their identity...
