Suddenly she loses control on a bend, leaves the road and races into oncoming traffic. Katja collides with another car carrying a family of four. All of the occupants are injured and have to be taken to hospital by ambulance, but their lives are out of danger. Katja suffers several serious fractures and a broken pelvis in the car accident. She is operated on immediately and the bones are screwed together. After the operation she suffers from wound pain which does not improve even after weeks, but gets worse - no painkillers help. Katja is desperate, sometimes she cries twelve hours a day. At first, the doctors believe that this chronic pain is primarily psychological. But when her leg turns red and blue, everyone realizes that something is wrong. She is diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) - a chronic neurological disease. Always by her side: her boyfriend Oliver - she had only been together with him for a year at the time of the accident. And then her pain suddenly disappears as if by a miracle. ???? Note: Katja suffers from CRPS after her accident and is in very severe pain. She has been given medication for a long time under medical advice and supervision. The video is not intended to give the impression that a single dose of the painkiller made Katja's pain disappear into thin air. There is no medical explanation for why the pain suddenly disappeared. Her body was used to the medication, the other factors are unclear. CRPS is individual, each disease course can be different.
