She grew up in a difficult environment. Her mother died early and her father was a single parent. The strict upbringing and the pressure to support the family shaped her childhood. Sophie often took on the role of mother to her siblings. She took care of the household and tried to do the best for everyone. At the age of 15, she left home and lived in shared apartments. During this time she met Dominik and fell in love with him. Sophie became pregnant; the news filled her with joy. But reality quickly caught up with her. Dominik is not ready to take on the role of father. Sophie often looks after her son alone. Then a neighbor reports a suspected child endangerment. The youth welfare office and the police come and take Luca away from the family. She is devastated. "I could have looked after Luca well," she says. But the youth welfare office is obliged to act to protect the child. Sophie fights to get Luca back - in vain. Despite her pain, she remains optimistic and begins to reorganize her life. After separating from Dominik, she meets her new partner Rico, who gives her stability and supports her. Sophie is now expecting her third child with him. Since she came of age, Sophie has been able to raise her children independently without the involvement of the youth welfare office. Luca now lives with a foster family.
