The Hyogo Prefectural gubernatorial election, which followed the loss of office of former Hyogo Governor Saito Motohiko following a vote of no confidence by the prefectural assembly, will be announced on October 31st and the vote count will be held on November 17th. Ahead of the announcement, the Japan Junior Chamber of Commerce Kinki District Hyogo Block Council held an open debate among candidates on the evening of the 27th. In the debate, each candidate stated their views on the theme of what they think about disaster prevention and mitigation measures as next year marks the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
