Shiva said: O Brahma, O Vishnu, the continuous circle of five actions consists of creation, maintenance, destruction, concealment and the bestowal of grace. Sarga is the creation of the world; sthiti is its maintenance; samhara is destruction; tirobhava is self-withdrawal and concealment. Liberation (from the cycle of births and deaths) is the bestowal of grace. These five actions are performed by Me, but they are silently continued by others, like statues supporting a portal. The first four actions are connected with the changes that the universe undergoes, and the fifth (grace) is the cause of liberation. All these are included in My prerogative. My devotees see these activities in the five elements: sarga (creation) in the earth, sthiti (sustainment) in the water, samhara (destruction) in the fire, tirobhava (concealment) in the wind, and anugraha (liberation, the state of bliss) in the space. By the earth everything is created; by the waters everything grows; fire consumes everything; the wind carries away everything, and from space everything receives grace. Thus should the wise understand the matter. To observe these five activities, I have five faces, four on each side and one in the middle. O sons, by your austerities you have obtained the first two activities, creation and maintenance. You have pleased Me, and therefore you are blessed. Similarly, the other two activities (destruction and concealment) are entrusted to Rudra and Mahesha. The fifth activity, anugraha (liberation), can be performed by no one else (except Me). In the course of time, both of you forgot all the previous functions, but this cannot be said about Rudra and Mahesha. I made them equal to Me in terms of appearance, dress, activities, mount, seat, weapons, etc. #health #healthylifestyle #meditation #awareness
