Taking on the challenge of recreating a national treasure Buddha - the Shaka Triad at Horyu-ji Temple and the craftsmen of Takaoka and Inami - The Takaoka Copperware Traditional Crafts Promotion Cooperative, as part of a collaborative team consisting of Takaoka City, Nanto City, Tokyo University of the Arts, and the Inami Carving Cooperative, participated in the "Horyu-ji Temple Shaka Triad Reproduction Project" to completely reproduce the national treasure Shaka Triad at Horyu-ji Temple*1 in full scale from 2015 to 2016. Using the casting techniques of our association (casting techniques mainly using wax molds, etc.) and modern technology (utilizing prototypes created from 3D data, etc.), this project involved a meticulous, full-scale reproduction of the national treasure Shaka Triad at Horyu-ji Temple, which is said to be kept secret, and exhibiting it.
