Perhaps the prospect of being legally protected outweighs this – especially when children are involved? Political scientist Emilia Roig is convinced that the reason lies much more in the patriarchy. In her opinion, marriage should be abolished. Love and friendship can be celebrated and promised – but neither church nor state are needed for this.
