We should be world class at saving time: we find true love at "speed dating", eat "fast food", grow "turbo corn" and hop on high-speed trains. But even though we live at a faster pace than ever before, we never find peace and quiet. For the sociologist and acceleration theorist Hartmut Rosa, the reason lies in the "dynamic stabilization" of modern societies: we can only maintain what we have if we constantly improve. Teresa Bücker, who has enjoyed great success with her book "All Time. A Question of Power and Freedom", also sees our lack of time as being rooted in the system. However, not everyone suffers equally from time poverty. Bücker therefore calls for a fairer distribution of the resource time.
