Pepsi, Can It Be? One of the most beloved drinks in the world, Pepsi is the second most famous soft drink in the world; and in the eyes of many, it is even better than its great rival, Coca-Cola. Just like its rival, Pepsi was also invented by a pharmacist: Caleb Bradham. It all started in the city of New Bern, North Carolina, USA; more specifically on August 28, 1893, when the pharmacist managed, after several tests, to develop a drink that would be both refreshing, energetic and that also helped the body with digestion. About 7 years earlier, the pharmacist John Pemberton had invented Coca-Cola, in the city of Atlanta; also with apparently medicinal purposes, based on the extract of coca leaves. In the same line, Caleb Bradham's drink was also made with kola nut, and a herbal compound that, according to its creator, helped digestion.
