The aim of biotope aquariums is to reproduce aquatic habitats that exist in nature as accurately as possible in an aquarium. The first question that arises is a very simple one: What do natural biotopes of aquarium fish actually look like? Do schools of tetras really always move through a forest of aquatic plants? Can you move a biotope into an aquarium, or at least part of it? Benjamin Hamann is one of the most renowned aquarium designers in Germany and specializes in biotope aquariums. In this workshop he shows how to set up a biotope aquarium.
