Anil Ramdas was a writer, journalist and programme maker. In 2017, five years after his death, De Groene Amsterdammer (where he was an editor), De Balie (where he was a director) and his family took the initiative to create an Anil Ramdas Essay Prize. This year, the prize will be awarded for the second time, and the winner will be announced at De Balie.
