Massimo Recalcati, a psychoanalyst of Lacanian orientation, teaches Psychoanalysis, aesthetics and communication at the IULM University of Milan and Dynamic Psychology at the University of Verona. He has also taught at the Universities of Pavia, Milan (Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Lausanne, Bergamo, Urbino. He is an analyst member of “Espace Analytique”, scientific director of IRPA, Research Institute of Applied Psychoanalysis of Milan, and founded Jonas Onlus in 2003, a Psychoanalytic Clinical Center for New Symptoms. He collaborates with “La Repubblica” and “La Stampa” and is co-director of the magazine “Frontiere della psicoanalisi”, as well as several series. Alongside his work interpreting the development and structure of Lacanian thought, he has dealt with phenomena of food addiction and contemporary psychopathology, also investigating the figures of the father, the mother and the family relationship in the hypermodern era. More recently, he has analyzed the relationship between politics and the discomfort of civilization, between psychoanalysis and artistic creation. Currently, his interest is oriented towards the study of the relationship between psychoanalysis and Christianity. His works have been translated into several languages.
