Jean-Luc Mélenchon appeared on the show Dimanche en politique on France 3, on November 17, 2024. He discussed the war in Ukraine and called on France to act to propose a ceasefire, as the Russians and Ukrainians were ready for it. He insisted on the need to consult the populations concerned, the only legitimate source of lasting peace. He then denounced Benjamin Netanyahu's policy, accusing him of wanting to destroy Lebanon while continuing the massacres of Palestinians, and urged the United States and Europe to stop arming Israel. At the same time, he proposed French aid to the Lebanese army to stabilize the region. On the national level, Jean-Luc Mélenchon criticized the Prime Minister's proposal to increase pensions by 1%, a measure he considered misleading because it was lower than inflation. He recalled that the rebellious group had reduced the deficit below 3% by imposing taxes on large fortunes and businesses. He points out that the National Rally refused to censure the Barnier government and prevented the debate on the impeachment of Emmanuel Macron. He calls for mobilization to file a new motion of censure and demands the impeachment of the president. Jean-Luc Mélenchon returns to the municipal elections, calling for united lists and denouncing those who hinder their implementation.
