The Former Suzuki Family Residence, designated as a National Important Cultural Property, played a major role as a major merchant house in the town of Asuke, which has long been a key transportation hub. With 16 buildings lined up on a 4,000m2 site, this large-scale and distinctive townhouse architecture is the best in the Tokai region. When preserving and repairing an Important Cultural Property, it is believed that each and every component of the building has historical value. Through meticulous research and traditional techniques, the original materials are carefully repaired. During this process, new historical facts were discovered.
