Here we show you our result of a spawning and rearing tank. Since there is no such combination yet, we have come up with this variant with the spawning wedge tank. This is a so-called hang-on tank that is supplied with water via an air lift. The water is pre-filtered at the air lift itself. The hang-on variant does not require any space in the aquarium. However, the same water is used, which benefits the fish being spawned. Both the inlet and the outlet are filtered with filter sponges in the rearing tank. Both the spawned fish and the young fish always stay in the same water, which significantly reduces stress for the fish. The solution with the mobile spawning wedge tank means that the fish can be transferred to the main tank easily and without stress after spawning. The young fish pass through a narrow slot from the wedge tank into the rearing tank and can be reared there.
