Airy tread of spring... Artist Oleg Molchanov Artist Oleg Ivanovich Molchanov was born in November 1966 in a village near Kostroma. He graduated from the Kostroma Art School and the Yaroslavl Art College. From 1986 to 1988 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization, he entered the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, in the workshop of I.S. Glazunov. After graduating from the Academy, he entered the I.E. Repin Institute for a restoration course. Since 1997, Oleg Ivanovich Molchanov has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In 2009, Molchanov was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia". He is also a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts, paints magnificent landscapes, restores icons, is involved in architectural activities and writes poetry, and travels a lot around the Russian outback. The landscapes of the artist Oleg Molchanov are a special expression of love for his homeland. It is not for nothing that art historians and critics note that the artist treats landscape painting with the same seriousness with which he paints icons – with faith and love. Probably for this reason we see Orthodox churches in most of the artist’s works. The artist believes that modernism is absolutely unsuitable for depicting the ideal purity and innocence of nature, since great Evil lives in modernist painting trends and this evil manifests itself in showing the relativity of all true values. For as long as I live, I cannot understand why freshly baked, warm bread with a crispy, ruddy crust is much tastier when you break it with your hands, rather than cut it with a knife?! And cheese is tasty only if you cut it into such thin slices that you can read a newspaper through them against the light. And milk should only be scalding cold! ... Sweet!
